New task? Make less tasks.

Y’all! It is painful out here in the delegation trenches! …especially for an “I got this” mama.

With the realization that my babies are no longer actual babies and the idea that I am raising adults to be adults and not perpetual children, I am on a mission!

Somewhere along the way I held up a white flag in the sake of my momentary sanity and decided that rather than asking- it was better to just take over and handle life for me and all of my pending adults. It wasn’t the worst choice, but it hasn’t served us well over here either for the long haul.

I have become worn out, tired, and I run through an endless task list in my head even when my feet are up. I know I am not alone.

So the mission is this; delegate to the ones in this house who have the energy and need the skills.

I am only a few days in, and it looks like they are far more capable, resilient, and resourceful than I even imagined. Of course, they are taking shortcuts and procrastinating to the fullest extent of mom’s law, but I think I’ll stay the course. It’s not easy to wait or watch or teach but it’s necessary and I’m going to see it through.

For all you mama’s who want to get a head start, here’s a list below of some tasks that your babies can handle now. Go ahead and put them to the test! Maybe you’ll save yourselves some gray hair or even just a few nights of dishes…

And if your task list isn’t full already…pray for me. I’m a work in progress! And I’m working on this right along with you.

Take care friends!
